What is unpasted wallpaper?
Unpasted wallpaper is often referred to as nonpasted or traditional wallpaper. Unlike our peel and stick wallpaper, it does not have a self-adhesive backing and requires a wallpaper paste to stick to a wall or surface. The top features of unpasted wallpaper are its high-quality texture, ability to stick to textured or bumpy surfaces, its timeless design appeal and high-end look.
What is the difference between unpasted wallpaper and peel and stick wallpaper?
Our unpasted wallpaper is printed on a high-quality, nonwoven, eco-friendly, and breathable substrate that requires paste during the application process. We recommend applying the paste directly to the wall.
Our peel and stick wallpaper is printed on a high-quality, certified vinyl product that has a self-adhesive backing that does not require any pastes or glues. Click here to learn more about the differences between our unpasted wallpaper and peel and stick wallpaper.
Can I apply unpasted wallpaper to a textured surface?
Unpasted wallpaper should be applied to smooth surfaces. We recommend testing any textured surfaces with a sample. If your wall is freshly painted, it is important to wait at least 30 to 60 days before hanging your wallpaper to allow for the paint to fully cure. If you are dealing with heavily textured walls, we recommend apply a wallpaper liner first.
Can unpasted wallpaper be applied to a bathroom with moisture?
Yes, our unpasted wallpaper, with the exception of authentic grasscloth, can be applied in bathrooms and areas with steam and indirect moisture.
What are the recommended surfaces for unpasted wallpaper?
Just like our peel and stick wallpaper, we recommend installing our unpasted wallpaper to a smooth surface that has been primed and painted and fully cured according to the paint instructions.
How do I prep my wall?
Wipe away all debris with a damp cloth and make sure that your surface is as smooth as possible. If there are any holes or bumpy areas, spackle and smooth out any rough areas before installation. Please follow our How to Hang Unpasted Wallpaper guide here.
How do you remove Tempaper non-pasted wallpaper?
Start with any corner and gently peel away the wallpaper from the surface. For stubborn spots, use a paint scraper to peel off the top layer, starting at the corners. Wet the remaining wallpaper with a sponge, wait 10 minutes, then use a scrub brush and a paint scraper to remove it in sections. If necessary, use a scoring tool or steamer to help loosen the wallpaper. For any residue left behind, try a wallpaper adhesive remover, then thoroughly clean the wall with a mixture of warm water and detergent. It helps to remove outlet covers, switch plates, and any hardware before you get started.
Can I custom order unpasted wallpaper from you or recolor one of your designs?
Yes, custom printing is available for large quantities only. Small quantity orders can be printed on our peel and stick wallpaper. Please reach out to [email protected] to learn more.
