Typically, as paints dry, it is common for gases to be released over a period of time due to the evaporation of different elements within the paint. This is often referred to as out-gassing. It is best practice to check your paint specifications to see how long it is recommended for the paint to cure and outgas. To be safe, waiting at least 30 days after painting your walls is recommended before installing any Tempaper products.

Unpasted Wallpaper
Our unpasted wallpaper is printed on a high-quality, nonwoven, eco-friendly, and breathable substrate that requires paste during the application process. We recommend applying the paste directly to the wall.
Our peel and stick wallpaper is printed on a high-quality, certified vinyl product that has a self-adhesive backing that does not require any pastes or glues. Click here to learn more about the differences between our unpasted wallpaper and peel and stick wallpaper.
Yes. Our non-pasted wallpaper is eco-friendly, PVC-free, and FSC Chain-of-Custody Mix Credit certified. Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is a global nonprofit promoting responsible forest management. This certification emphasizes our pledge to sustainable practices, promoting long-term environmental health.
Our non-pasted wallpaper holds a ASTM E84 Class A fire rating. This rating means it has the lowest fire spread rate and minimal smoke production.
Unpasted wallpaper should be applied to smooth surfaces. We recommend testing any textured surfaces with a sample.
If your wall is freshly painted, it is important to wait at least 30 to 60 days before hanging your wallpaper to allow for the paint to fully cure. If you are dealing with heavily textured walls, we recommend apply a wallpaper liner first.
First, follow the directions listed on your wallpaper paste. You can paste the wall, paste the product or both. We recommend applying the paste directly to your surface or wall with a brush or roller.
1. Draw a plumb line and repeat this step every time you reach a corner or start a new wall.
2. Measure the length of your first panel, allowing extra wallpaper at the top and bottom for trimming.
3. Use a precision knife to carefully cut your first strip of wallpaper.
4. Apply your adhesive to your wall using the paste-the-wall method. Only cover a small area at a time, a little more than the width of your wallpaper panel.
5. Slide the first panel into position, aligning the paper with your plumb line to ensure a straight application.
6. Smooth your wallpaper into place with your squeegee.
7. Use your straight edge and precision knife to trim away any excess wallpaper at the bottom and top of your panel.
8. Wipe away any residue on your wallpaper with a damp sponge and clean water.
Yes, our unpasted wallpaper, with the exception of authentic grasscloth, can be applied in bathrooms and areas with steam and indirect moisture.
Just like our peel and stick wallpaper, we recommend installing our unpasted wallpaper to a smooth surface that has been primed and painted and fully cured according to the paint instructions.
If your wallpaper is installed correctly using the recommended wallpaper paste, it is possible for our unpasted wallpaper to be removed in full sheets. However, unlike our peel and stick wallpaper, our unpasted collection is designed to be a more permanent fixture in your home.
Yes, custom printing is available for large quantities only. Small quantity orders can be printed on our peel and stick wallpaper. Please reach out to [email protected] to learn more.
This is optional and a personal preference. Wallpaper sizing, also referred to as wallpaper primer, is a solution that provides a barrier between the plaster and wallpaper that makes the installation and removal process easier.
Our unpasted wallpaper has a durable and washable design, which means it is much easier to wipe away dirt using a damp sponge. You should still be cautious while applying pressure, as it is still possible to rip and tear the paper. Do not use chemicals.
It depends on the type of wallpaper. In most cases, non-coated wallpaper can be wallpapered over. Vinyl-coated wallpaper is nonporous, so wallpaper will not stick to it. We recommend removing vinyl-coated wallpaper before applying your new wallpaper.
Authentic Grasscloth Wallpaper
Our authentic grasscloth wallpaper, unlike our peel and stick wallpaper, does not have a self-adhesive backing and requires a wallpaper paste to stick to a wall or surface. The top benefits of authentic grassscloth wallpaper are its rich, natural materials, high-end texture and look, and timeless design appeal.
Yes, professional installer recommended. This material is pre-trimmed at the factory. The installer may, at his/her discretion, table-trim each edge as required to achieve a better seam or consistent panel width due to site conditions or unique circumstances.
Grasscloth is a naturally absorbent material. It is not recommended for areas where humidity and moisture can build up. Grasscloth wallpaper can be installed in larger bathroom spaces where steam, moisture and humidity do not gather.
Grasscloth wallpapers are made from natural raw materials. The product is less durable than a vinyl or paper wallcovering due to the natural fibers and their low resistance to stains. Also, authentic grasscloth wallpaper is not a washable wallcoverings. It should only be vacuumed.
Yes, authentic grasscloth wallpaper will always have visible seams. The product is handmade and woven with natural plant fibers that give the finished product a certain unevenness and no pattern match. Corks, Micas and Paper Weaves have seams that are less visible. Being handmade and hand dyed, it is common that shades will vary from roll to roll, and from end to end of a single roll. This is the natural look of grasscloth.
Yes, you can use grasscloth wallpaper on a slightly textured wall. The wallpaper will stick to the majority of textures however, the smoother the surface, the easier the wallpaper will be to install and the better it will look.
Artisan Rugs
Rug pads are recommended, as they can extend the life and condition of your floor covering. Typically, the thickness of the rug determines which type of pad you should use.
No, our jute rugs do not have a backing, so a rug pad is recommended.
Wool rugs are backed with canvas and sealed with latex glue. However, this does not prevent slipping and a rug pad is still recommended.
We recommend professional clean or spot clean.
Getting it while it’s wet is crucial! Make sure to blot, starting outside of the stain and working inward. This helps to prevent the spread. Cold water works very well, so always try this first. Begin by blotting with water and then blotting with a towel to dry.
Machine made is generally a better price point for customers, but there are exceptions here. Hand woven is usually longer lasting.
Medium/high pile rugs are anything taller than 1/4". High piles are known for their soft, luxurious feel and are often used in living rooms, bedrooms, and cozy spaces.
Low pile rugs are 1/4" or shorter. Since they are easy to clean and vacuum, they are often used in kitchens, entryways, and hallways.
We do not recommend putting your rug in a washing machine. The best way to clean a rug is professional or spot clean.
Yes, our vinyl and performance rugs are indoor/outdoor use. Those that are indoor/outdoor will be called out on their product page.
The biggest difference between an outdoor rug and an indoor rug is the material that is used. Outdoor rugs are made with more durable materials that can withstand harsh weather conditions, while indoor rugs are typically softer.
Wool is naturally stain-resistant and water-resistant, which means it doesn’t need to be cleaned as often as other fabrics. The natural “crimp” in each fiber allows the wool rug to resist the compression of daily use, which means fewer issues with furniture indentation. It can also absorb water spills while still feeling dry to the touch.
Jute is a natural plant fiber that is renewable, biodegradable, and carbon-dioxide neutral. It is appreciated for its natural beauty and adaptable to most interiors. In addition, Jute is fairly low maintenance.
Outdoor rugs are made from durable materials, which means it is designed to resist fading and stains, as well as withstand rain and harsh weather conditions without getting too saturated.
Vinyl Rugs
We do not accept returns for custom merchandise, except for manufacturing defects. All sales are final.
There is a one year limited warranty for tearing and defects, when reasonable caution has been exercised, and the care sheet has been followed.
Our vinyl floor rugs are made with two-ply vinyl that has a latex padded backing. It is about 1/16" thick and can fit under most doorways. The material is lay flat and has a certified non-slip surface. It is non-flammable, phthalate-free, and UV-resistant for up to three years.
Carpet pads are not necessary, and we do not suggest using them. Your vinyl will lay flat and stay in place once unrolled on the floor.
Yes, our vinyl is ideal for most flat surfaces. It will not damage or discolor hardwood floors (be sure to clean up spills that roll under it right away). When used on tile with wide grout, please be aware that furniture legs or high heel shoes may puncture the floor cloth - Use caution! We do not recommend use on carpet, gravel, or any other uneven surface.
While our vinyl is durable, it is not indestructible. Do not drag heavy furniture across it and be careful of stiletto heels or other sharp objects. Always use felt pads under table and chair legs.
Do not use floor cleaning chemicals, scrub brushes, or vacuums on your vinyl! First, try a damp cloth with water. For stubborn jobs try diluted hand soap on a cloth or soft sponge.
