A vinyl floor rug, also known as a vinyl floor cloth or floor mat, is a type of floor covering that is made from durable and waterproof vinyl. It comes in a variety of patterns, colors, and sizes. It is easy to clean and can withstand moisture and heavy foot traffic, making them a popular choice for kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor spaces.
Vinyl floor rugs and mats are the perfect alternative to a traditional area rug and can be added to most indoor or outdoor spaces within your home.
Are Vinyl Floor Mats Good?
Our vinyl floor rugs collection is comprised of 14 design-savvy prints. Each style is available in 6 different sizes and made to appeal to a variety of tastes.
Perfect for high traffic areas like a kitchen, hallway, family room or outdoor patio, vinyl rugs are highly durable, non-slip, and easy to clean.
A few designs echo the aesthetics of geometric tile and dyed mudcloth, while others feature dramatic patterns depicting vibrant citrus fruits, striking florals, bold animal prints, and captivating abstract art.
“Over the years, we have seen our customers use Tempaper on everything from walls and ceilings to dressers, stair risers, bookcases, and more. It was only natural that we evolve adding interest to the floor. I have always viewed one as a continuation of the other. Graphic vinyl rugs create so much color interest in a home, and their spill-proof nature makes them practical for a wide range of settings, a characteristic that is central to the Tempaper brand.”
Jennifer Matthews, Co-Founder and Creative Director of Tempaper

Why Choose a Vinyl Rug Over Traditional Carpet?
A rug ties a room together and is arguably one of the most important elements of your home. Since a floor mat will anchor your room and bring in warmth and style, it’s important to choose the right rug size, shape, and placement for your space. From your living room to your kitchen, we’re sharing important factors to keep in mind when it comes to choosing the right rug size for every room in your home.
The size of your rug will change the overall look of your room. If it’s too small, your space will appear less inviting but if the rug is too large, your room will appear smaller. Living Room Rug Size Guide
There are three main ways to style a rug in a living room. You can place all of the furniture legs resting on the rug, you can place just the front legs of your furniture on the rug, or lastly, the rug can be placed floating in the center of the room so that all of the furniture, except for the coffee table, are off the rug.

Our waterproof, vinyl rugs are recommended for indoor/outdoor use. So, when it comes time to find the right rug for your outdoor patio, we recommend both our large area rugs, as well as our smaller floor mats.
If you choose to place your rug under a grouping of furniture, the rug should be large enough that the front legs are placed on top of the rug. Adding a rug to your outdoor patio will help make your space feel extra inviting for you and your guests.
Since our durable, easy-to-clean vinyl rugs can withstand heavy foot traffic and muddy feet (and paws), we recommend our smaller rugs to be used as a welcome mat for guests.
